Lexus Releases a teaser of the New Lexus UX

On January 20th Lexus announced that it will reveal the new UX on March 6th at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show. With the announcement they released a teaser image of the new car. It was a dimly lit picture that left everything to our imagination except for one thing: tail light fins. Unlike the popular tail light fin of the lat 50s, this one is not elevated from the back of the main body; these fins are simply raised edges of the rear tail light bar.

Even thought these are not typical tail light fins that one might imagine when they think of them, car lovers everywhere are intrigued by Lexus’s bold attempt at bringing them back. It has been a very long time since we have seen this design choice and to see it brought back by Toyota’s luxury car brand could mean one thing: Lexus could begin the trend that sees the return of the fin in modern design.

Although the dimly lit picture doesn’t tell us much about the other design choices of the new Lexus UX, the parts that we have seen look absolutely stunning.

We will have to wait a few months until the 2018 Geneva International Motor show to see the rest of the car.
