Paint Pro Gives High Marks to Automakers’ Detroit Palettes
Increasingly, automobiles are a personal statement for those who buy and drive them. It seems as every car owner wants to make a stamp on his/her vehicle and one way to do that is by using color. Auto manufacturers now are making it a point to give their customers a wide selection of colors and introducing new, exciting colors to grab attention. Gone are the same basic primary colors, a trend that has some people in the industry excited about the future.
The 2018 Detroit Auto Show brought some high praise from a automotive paint pro, PPG Industries’ Jane Harrington. The paint industry executive said that this year there were a larger number of new colors on display across all car makers. This is a trend that the company hopes keeps trending up. Automotive paint colors continue to evolve each year, as auto manufacturers find ways of spicing up what would be ordinary colors by using different types of layering processes and flakes. This makes a paint job on a vehicle more like a work of art and one thing car makers know is that the people that but their products want something unique. It is a process that is ever-evolving and so far it looks like the auto industry is listening to the market.
