Porsche Mission E electric sedan to offer 300 miles of range, 400 hp, at minimum

“The dynamics of driving straight ahead are simple. To appreciate the essence of the
sports car concept, look at the curves.” That’s what Stefan Weckbach, head of the
Mission E project, had to say about the Porsche Mission E electric concept car.

Based on revolutionary technology, the Mission E gives us the opportunity to see into
the future.

This is Porsche’s first purely electric sports concept car and still it meets all
Porsche performance standards that they are known for.

With a whole new powertrain, the Mission E proves to everyone that it is indeed a
sports car. Capable of blowing the doors off most gas powered cars out there today.

Two permanent magnet synchronous motors (PSMs) power the Mission E with 600hp. One
motor pushing the rear end axle and one motor pulling the front axle while regaining
power every time you brake.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because they used a powertrain very similar to this to
win Le Mans.

0 to 60mph in under 3.5 seconds, and 0 to 124mph in 12 seconds really raises the
question: “Why are we still driving cars that send toxins into the air”?

It’s not a power issue obviously, or a problem with mpg because they don’t use gas at
all, and the Mission E can drive 300 miles on one charge due to the size of lithium-ion

Then with a fifteen charge can go another 250 miles provided you are using the 800 volt
charging station instead of the standard 400 volt which is still fine to use, just a
bit more time will be necessary.

At home, you can have a coil installed in the floor of your garage and all you have to
do is park over it and it will transfer power wirelessly.

Wow, talk about futuristic refueling.
