What Will Cars Be Like in 2025?
Eager to know whether you’ll still be handling the wheel in 2025 or whether you’ll be going driverless? Here’s what you should know about what cars will be like in 2025. Fasten your seatbelt.
Driving Will Be Safer
Driving in 2025 will be safer than ever. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, distracted driving currently kills more than 9 people a day. There are several forms of distracted driving, from manual – taking your hands off the wheel – to cognitive – allowing your mind to drift to something else.
But by 2025, the number of fatalities could drop by as many as 30,000 people a year, according to The Motley Fool. That’s thanks to driverless technology, which is on track to become part of our everyday lives. Congress is currently working on a number of legislative proposals that will simplify the rules car companies have to follow when testing their driverless cars.
Driving Will Be Greener
Fuel-efficient cars, cleaner fuels, and electric cars and trucks are already paving the road for reducing emissions. In fact, the average new car in the US is 43% cleaner than those produced in 1998, according to the Union of Concerned Scientists.
By 2025, that number will improve dramatically. According to The Telegraph, Countries around the world, including the US, are already considering putting strict regulations in place for the 2020s that will either limit or completely ban the sale of petroleum-based vehicles.
Between improved safety and lower emissions, one thing is clear: in 2025, the car landscape will be dramatically different.
